Lead Software Engineer

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

Under Armour is seeking a full stack Software Engineering Lead for Under Armour India (UAI) office, with a strong emphasis on front-end engineering. This role will help architect and build fast, frictionless experiences across the globe as part of our growing Ecommerce Engineering team. While this is a full stack role, the primary responsibility will be leading and delivering front-end initiatives across multiple platforms.

The ideal candidate is enjoys building high-quality, accessible and performant user interfaces, but is also comfortable working with backend services, APIs, and system design concepts when needed. They have a passion for collaboration with cross functional partners, can adapt to technology change and evolution, and are eager to find creative solutions to technical issues.

Reporting Structure- You will report directly to amanager employed by Under Armour Global Services Pvt. Ltd. in India. You will have dotted-linereporting intoto service recipient stakeholders at Under Armour, Inc. (US), UA's Global Headquarters.

YOUR IMPACT (Job Responsibilities):

• A hands-on, technical leader helping to improve and enforce our frontend architecture and its integration with backend systems
• Support full lifecycle feature development, from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and operations
• Build and maintain efficient UI applications and components that integrate efficiently with backend services and a variety of third party systems
• Partner with backend and platform teams to define APIs, data contracts, and system boundaries that enable great front-end experiences
• Document and maintain software functionality, architectural decisions, and integration patterns
• Communicate clear execution plans to both technical teammates and non technical business partners
• Act as owner for enforcing front-end standards and best practiceswhile also contributing to broader engineering patternsto improve performance, availability, and scalability based on both technical and business considerations
• Provide leadership and technical guidance during incident triage helping expedite resolution of customer impact, ensuring clear communication, rapid resolution, and durable post incident improvements (includes periodic 24x7 on call)

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor's degree with typically 8 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with typically 6 years of relevant experience OR typically 12 years of relevant work experience without degree
• Deep expertise with modern web development, with a strong focus on front-end capabilities including React, TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS/SCSS, and HTML
• Comfortable working across the stack: understands backend concepts (e.g., REST/GraphQL APIs, microservices, caching, data modeling, CI/CD) and can contribute to backend development when necessary
• Ability to translate UX and product requirements into scalable front-end architectures that align with backend and platform constraints
• Ideal candidate has exposure to some of the following technologies and systems:
• Next.js
• Tagging & Analytics (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Tealium, Google Tag Manager)
• Content Management Systems (e.g., Amplience, Contentful)
• Feature Flagging & A/B Testing (e.g., Adobe Target, AB Tasty)
• E-Commerce Systems (e.g., Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Hybris, Shopify, etc.)

WORKPLACE LOCATION:

• Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from ouroffice.
• Work Schedule:This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 4 days in-office per week.
