The Health and Safety Council® has been in business for 30+ years, supporting the petrochemical and manufacturing industry domestically and internationally along the Gulf Coast. Our Live Online Proctors are responsible for proctoring trainees via virtual labs.
Position Overview
The Live Online Proctor will oversee trainee check‑in, monitor training events, communicate lab rules, provide technical assistance, ensure testing procedures are followed, and report any irregularities.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Checks in trainees and verifies identification prior to testing
- Monitors trainees throughout training event
- Communicates lab rules and policies to trainees as needed while proctoring to ensure adherence to HASC rules and policies
- Explains the course and/or exam processes
- Assists trainees with technical assistance related to course navigation, login process, or equipment setup
- Understands testing procedures for each exam and adheres to company quality and security measures
- Reports suspected irregularities or trainee behavior to management immediately
- Maintains a professional and respectful demeanor
- Assists with covering for lunches and breaks (if needed)
- Reports all course problems or discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner to the Supervisor of Live Online Proctoring
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Can cross‑train and assist other departments as necessary to meet business needs
- For Louisiana areas: proficiency in all CSR areas (e.g., Proctoring, Check‑in)
Requirements
- High School Diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.)
- Knowledge and understanding of HASC organization, goals, objectives, policies and procedures
- Ability to use Windows Microsoft Office programs and Internet browsers
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends or travel as needed
Physical Demands
Regularly required to read, talk or hear, stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl. Occasionally lifts up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment

Reporting Responsibilities
The Live Online Proctor reports directly to the Supervisor of Live Online Proctoring for Louisiana areas Operation Manager on duty. This position does not have direct reports.
