Overview
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for its Emergency Department (ED) – Level 1 Trauma Center.
Sign on bonus available for qualified candidates.
Location
Norfolk, VA
Shift
Second (Evenings) 12‑hour shifts.
About the Hospital
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is the region’s first Magnet Hospital. It is a 525‑bed medical center and the primary teaching facility for Eastern Virginia Medical School. The hospital is the only Level 1 Trauma Center in the 126‑mile region and houses four intensive care units, a 112‑bed nationally ranked heart hospital, a comprehensive certified stroke center, a national‑ranked urology program, and a dedicated burn trauma unit.
It also offers heart, kidney, and pancreas transplants and operates the Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance.
The 53‑bed Emergency Department handles a variety of medical emergencies, with about 10% being trauma related.
Responsibilities
- Triaging patients in the ED.
- Verifying medical information.
- Caring for the patient’s overall health.
- Working closely with doctors and other team members.
