Job Description
Manulife’s Global Data Governance team is growing, and we are looking for an experienced professional to help shape the growing function and drive adoption of our data governance and data quality frameworks, implement best practices and supporting technologies across the enterprise. This role has a focus on data quality under the larger scope of data governance. You will work with our technology and business partners to unlock the value of data through improved accuracy and trust.
This will help Manulife achieve its strategic ambition of becoming a digital customer leader. It will also enable efficiency and speed in generating data-driven insights.
Position Responsibilities
- Support the deployment of data governance agenda globally to accelerate trust and utilization of data
- Collaborate with business data users, technology stakeholders and segment data governance teams to drive adoption of the DQ platform and dashboards, as well as the DQ framework and processes
- Engage with stakeholders at various levels of the organization to guide them in identification of critical data elements, setting up metrics linking data quality to business value, and implement data quality controls to measure and monitor data health
- Conduct hands on data analysis to address high-priority data quality issues from issue identification through root cause analysis to issue resolution
- Support leaders in data governance roles across the organization to improve their data literacy and familiarity with the data governance and data quality practices
- Serve as a liaison between the Global Data Governance team and our Segment Data offices, Data Owners and Control Partners (Information Risk Management, Compliance, Privacy, Legal) to ensure that data quality requirements are defined, captured, and communicated
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of data governance and data management related experience in a large multinational organization, with mastery of data governance and data quality concepts and technologies
- Hands‑on experience using one or more leading data quality / data governance software (Informatica DQ platform and CDGC platform) and data visualization products (Power BI)
- A college/university degree in computer science, engineering or quantitative field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating in a complex, large‑scale organization; financial and insurance industry experience preferred
- Working knowledge in Finance, Actuarial, and key business areas in Insurance industry
- Familiarity with foundational data architecture concepts and Cloud technology is a plus
- Practical experience with data wrangling, analytics, dashboard design. Knowledge and experience of AI/ML technologies and approaches is a plus

Salary range is expected to be between
$113,000.00 CAD - $163,000.00 CAD
Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job‑related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
