Manager, Risk Management (LAUNCH)

Overview

Manager, Risk Management (LAUNCH) at Capital One. As a Risk Manager in Capital One’s Network Risk organization, you will oversee governance and oversight of the Global Payment Network’s LAUNCH program, a risk assessment process for introducing new, expanded, or modified products, services, or processes. This role focuses on ensuring an efficient, reputable, and value-adding risk assessment that evolves with business partner needs.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of the end-to-end LAUNCH process, including intake, prioritization, due diligence, and approval through Risk Pre-Check (RPC) and AE signoff.
• Governance of the process with weekly team stand-ups and ongoing monitoring of the initiative pipeline to maintain process health.
• Resolve escalations as needed and provide ongoing escalation support as necessary.
• Support reporting routines, including support for management business reviews (MBRs) and ad hoc data requests.
• Identification, training, and onboarding of new stakeholders, including Functional Area Representatives (FAR), Independent Risk Managers (IRM), Intent Requestors, and Accountable Executives.
• Relationship management with stakeholders through ongoing check-ins to address questions and maintain engagement.
• Partner with leadership on the definition and implementation strategy for LAUNCH, including education campaigns and process improvements to keep LAUNCH highly visible and effective.
• Successful implementation of LAUNCH and Risk Pre-Check within the Global Payment Network.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or military experience.
• At least 1 year of Financial Services Risk Management experience.
• At least 3 years of Project Management experience.
• At least 5 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal business clients.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 5 years of Project Management experience leading cross-functional projects and programs in Risk.
• At least 3 years of Financial Services risk management experience.
• PMP Certification or Masters Certificate of Project Management (CPM).
• Ability to set direction, manage expectations, and lead cross-functional teams.
• Consulting experience with a global professional services firm.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries and the actual offer will reflect the location of work and applicable plan details. This role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation.
