Manual Test Engineer(SAL)

Roles & Responsibilities:

 System Testing of applications deployed across Linux/ Windows 2008+/ MS IIS and SQL Server platforms

 Test Engineer has to work with Architecture and Development team to understand the user stories/scenarios of the system and design appropriate test strategy and test cases

 Execute the tests on the system, report and document defects and verify the defects in subsequent builds

 Regression testing of the system for generic functionalities

 Exploratory testing to Identify unusual technical issues/user experience issues

 Automate the test cases and build an automated test suite over time

Primary Skills required:

 Must be comfortable working in Linux/Unix and Windows environment

 Sound Testing concepts

 Practical skills to understand reporting and data analysis tools and technologies.

 Must be comfortable working on Telecom products environment

 Experience in Web application testing

 Ability to do an in-depth comparison of reports and spot data issues caused by reporting code changes.

 Ability to analyze the data on the reports and spot anomalies.

 Solid test documentation experience.

 Proficiency in using commercial report testing tools such as WebRunner for ASP.NET, Centric Hailstorm for vulnerability testing.

 Good domain knowledge in Networking/Telecom’

Good to have

 Some hands on experience with networking device configuration such as routers/switches

 Familiar with networking fundamentals such as OSI/TCP-IP/Routing concepts/Firewall/SIP etc

 Test Automation experience using Selenium, Python etc

 Performance Testing experience with JMeter etc

Others

 Familiarity with Database/Scripting/Automation/Agile and regular testing

 Good communication skills, Oral and Written.

 Experience in working with a small to medium sized software development team following engineering lifecycle processes.
