Material Coordinator/Inspector will perform a thorough visual inspection on ISO (International Organization for Standardization) intermodal containers following the criteria and procedures IAW the MIL-STD-3037 to identify containers that are serviceable and safe for loading and shipping.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prep containers for inspection.
- Spray paint over any unit’s identifying logo and remove labels.
- Inspect containers IAW the MIL-STD-3037 and annotate all deficiencies on DA Form 2404.
- Stencil new ISO numbers or restencil any faded / missing ISO numbers, weights, or measurements.
- Attach new data strip to match new ISO number.
- Remove of ISO markings and data plates from disposed containers.
- Prep containers for inspection.
- Paint over any unit’s identifying logo and remove labels.
- Inspect containers IAW the MIL-STD-3037 and annotate all findings on DA Form 2404.and ISO Inspection Checklist.
- Do a final inspection after repairs are completed.
- Stencil new ISO numbers or re-stencil any faded / missing ISO numbers, weights, or measurements.
- Attach new data strip to match new ISO number.
- Remove all ISO markings and data plates from disposed containers.
- Submit inspection documents to the Maintenance Scheduler.
- Attach new DA Form 2282 on serviceable containers.
- Keep track of inspection expiration date
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Training Requirements:
Must take the Ammo-43 Intermodal Dry Cargo Container Course
Minimum Job and Education Requirements:
High School/GED. Trade school desired. One year of experience in this field.
Must be able to work outside using ladders and hand tools.
