About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with around 4 years of experience in a hardware product-based environment, preferably within a startup. This role requires a hands-on professional who can contribute across the full product development lifecycle and translate concepts into manufacturable designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks
• Create detailed 2D drawings with GD&T as per ASME Y14.5 standards
• Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles for sheet metal and machined parts
• Select and integrate machine elements such as gears, bearings, and linear motion systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electronics, manufacturing, and suppliers
• Support product prototyping, testing, and validation
• Ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and cost requirements
• Drive product improvements based on testing results and field feedback
• Manage design documentation, revisions, and data (experience with PDM tools is a plus)

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 4 years of experience in a hardware product-based company (startup experience preferred)
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, and drawings)
• Good understanding of DFM for sheet metal and machining processes
• Strong fundamentals in machine design, including:
• Gear selection and design
• Bearing selection
• Linear motion systems (rails, guides, actuators)
• Ability to create manufacturing-ready drawings as per ASME Y14.5
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and assembly techniques
• Exposure to product design considerations such as:
• Thermal analysis
• Vibration
• Ingress protection (IP ratings)
• Understanding of fatigue and failure modes

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a startup or fast-paced product development environment
• Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing
• Familiarity with SolidWorks PDM or similar tools
