Mechanical Design Engineer

The Mechanical Executive assists the Mechanical Lead in the R&D department. This role focuses on supporting the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems for OES instruments. The Mechanical Executive is responsible for conducting thermal and fluid dynamics analysis, creating prototypes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of mechanical systems with other components.

Major responsibilities:

Support Mechanical Design and Development:

• Assist in designing and developing mechanical components and systems for OES instruments.
• Ensure that designs meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability standards.
• Provide input and support in the refinement of mechanical designs based on project requirements.

Conduct Thermal and Fluid Dynamics Analysis:

• Perform computational analysis of thermal and fluid dynamics within OES systems.
• Optimize thermal and fluid parameters to enhance the stability and efficiency of instruments.
• Assist in the use of simulation tools and techniques to ensure accurate analysis results.

Prototyping and Testing Support:

• Help create prototypes and conduct rigorous testing to validate mechanical designs.
• Use advanced tools and techniques to perform testing and ensure alignment with project specifications.
• Document test results and assist in the identification and resolution of design issues.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

• Collaborate with optics, electronics, and other R&D teams to integrate mechanical designs with other system components.
• Ensure cohesive and high-performing OES products by supporting interdisciplinary efforts and addressing integration challenges.
• Communicate effectively with other teams to facilitate the smooth execution of joint projects.

Qualifications:

B.Tech/ BE (Mechanical)

M.Tech/ M.E (Mechanical) - Preferred

Experience: 3+ years
