Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Purpose

Review and coordinate mechanical design and engineering documents prepared by the EPC contractor and Owner’s Engineer to ensure compliance with project requirements, standards, and proper mechanical–electrical interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Review mechanical design documents: DBD, PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, equipment datasheets and specifications
• Mechanical scope covering GT, HRSG, ST auxiliaries, cooling water system, fuel gas, compressed air, fire protection and HVAC
• Coordinate mechanical interfaces with electrical systems, including GT/ST packages, electrical buildings, and auxiliaries
• Review mechanical and interface aspects of 225 kV switchyard, power evacuation system and transmission line foundations
• Ensure compliance with project specs, international codes, and statutory requirements
• Review vendor documents and respond to technical queries and deviations
• Coordinate with EPC, OE, and multidisciplinary teams
• Support construction and commissioning from a design perspective

Qualifications & Experience

• B.E./B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering
• 8–15 years’ experience in CCGT power projects (Owner / EPC / OE)
• Strong experience in design review and EPC coordination
• Knowledge of switchyard mechanical/fire protection interfaces preferred
