MEP Project Manager - Job DescriptionThe MEP Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing aspects of construction projects. They ensure systems are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality and safety standards.Key Responsibilities1. Project Planning & ExecutionDevelop MEP project plans, schedules, and budgetsCoordinate with architects, structural teams, and contractorsOversee installation of HVAC, electrical, fire protection, and plumbing systems2.
Design & CoordinationReview MEP drawings and specificationsEnsure clash-free coordination using tools like AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM platformsWork closely with consultants and design teams3. Site ManagementSupervise on-site MEP activitiesEnsure compliance with local codes and standardsMonitor subcontractors and vendors4. Cost & Procurement ControlPrepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and cost estimatesManage procurement of MEP materials and equipmentTrack expenses and control project costs5.
Quality & SafetyEnsure adherence to QA/QC standardsImplement safety practices and ensure compliance with regulations6. Stakeholder CommunicationAct as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractorsProvide regular progress reports and updatesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (or related field)5-15+ years of experience in MEP project management (depends on project size)Experience in commercial, residential, or industrial constructionKey SkillsStrong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systemsProject management and leadership skillsProficiency in tools like Microsoft Project or Primavera P6Budgeting and cost control expertiseProblem-solving and decision-makingPreferred CertificationsPMP (Project Management Professional)LEED certification (for green building projects)Relevant safety certifications
