The primary objective is to support, troubleshoot, and optimize automation systems that connect production processes with enterprise-level software, enhancing overall manufacturing efficiency and data accuracy. This position involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement interface solutions that facilitate real-time data exchange between programmable logic controllers (PLCs), SCADA systems, and other automation components. The role demands a proactive approach to identifying system issues, analyzing root causes, and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime and improve system reliability.
Ultimately, the MES Support professional will contribute to the continuous improvement of manufacturing operations by leveraging technical expertise and analytical skills to support complex automation infrastructures.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.Proven experience with automation system integration in a manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.Familiarity with communication protocols such as Modbus and network models including the OSI model.Demonstrated analytical thinking and decision-making skills in troubleshooting complex automation systems.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working specifically with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) in a manufacturing setting.Certifications related to automation, control systems, or network communications.Knowledge of interface design best practices and software development lifecycle.Experience with data analytics tools and techniques to support continuous improvement initiatives.Prior experience in a 33 - Manufacturing industry sector or similar industrial environment.Responsibilities:Provide day-to-day technical support and troubleshooting for MES and related automation systems to ensure continuous production operations.Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to design, develop, and maintain interfaces between MES, PLCs, SCADA, and other control systems.Analyze system performance data and logs to identify issues, recommend improvements, and implement corrective actions.Manage communication protocols such as Modbus and ensure compliance with network standards including the OSI model for reliable data transmission.Document system configurations, changes, and support activities to maintain accurate records and facilitate knowledge sharing.Skills:In this role, the candidate will apply their expertise in automation system integration to ensure that MES interfaces effectively with PLCs and SCADA systems, enabling real-time monitoring and control of manufacturing processes. Analytical thinking is essential for diagnosing system issues and making informed decisions that minimize production disruptions. Knowledge of the OSI model and Modbus protocol will be used daily to maintain robust and secure communication between devices and systems.
Interface design skills will support the development and enhancement of user-friendly and efficient data exchange mechanisms. Overall, these skills combine to empower the candidate to maintain high system availability, support continuous process improvements, and contribute to the operational excellence of the manufacturing facility.
