Electrically Biased Shift Engineer - Ripley3 Shift Pattern 40 Hours Per WeekTotal Package: £53,482 including Shift PremiumWe are recruiting for an Electrically Biased Shift Engineer to join a complex and highly automated manufacturing environment in Ripley. The site operates a wide range of specialist production processes and is continuing to invest in engineering reliability,plant performance and continuous improvement. The engineering function is focused on moving from a reactive maintenance culture towards a proactive and preventative approach,helping improve equipment reliability,reduce downtime and support long-term operational targets.
Working as part of a shift engineering team,you will provide electrical and multi-skilled support across manufacturing equipment and site services,ensuring plant performance,safety and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Ensure all machinery and systems are operated and maintained safely in line with site procedures and standards Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance activities across production equipment and site services Diagnose and fault-find electrical issues to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability Support continuous improvement initiatives and help engineer out repeat failures Assist with equipment upgrades,modifications and improvement projects Support root cause investigations and implement corrective actions Work closely with production and engineering teams to improve plant performance Maintain accurate maintenance records through CMMS systems Ensure adherence to Lockout/Tagout procedures and risk assessment processes Support site-wide safety,compliance and facility improvement initiatives Monitor and contribute towards performance measures including MTTR and MTTF The Successful Candidate Will Have Time-served Electrical Maintenance Apprenticeship (minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) Experience working within manufacturing,process or production environments Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic capability Experience working with motors,inverters,drives and industrial control systems PLC fault-finding experience and understanding of automated production machinery Experience with electrical control panels,sensors and instrumentation Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics Understanding of root cause analysis and continuous improvement principles Experience using CMMS systems and maintenance documentation A proactive mindset and willingness to contribute within a continuous improvement culture Desirable Knowledge of steam systems and site utilities Basic mechanical maintenance understanding Experience supporting automated manufacturing environments Knowledge of health & safety systems including permit systems and LOTO What's on Offer £53,482 package including shift premium Opportunity to join a highly automated manufacturing environment Strong focus on reliability and continuous improvement Investment in engineering and site development Supportive team environment with long-term career opportunities
