Network Security Engineer

L2R is seeking two Fortinet Engineers / Consultants with active Fortinet NSE 7 certification for a remote implementation and support rollout project. These consultants will support a large-scale client environment with approximately 500 locations.

This is a full-time contract role focused on Fortinet implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, and ongoing support across a complex multi-site enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience with FortiGate firewalls, network security, VPNs, routing, SD‑WAN, and enterprise firewall support.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation, rollout, configuration, and ongoing support of Fortinet security infrastructure across a large distributed client environment.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot FortiGate firewalls, firewall policies, NAT rules, VPNs, routing, and security profiles.
• Assist with a Fortinet rollout and support project for a client environment with approximately 500 locations.
• Troubleshoot firewall, VPN, routing, connectivity, and performance issues across multiple sites.
• Support firewall changes, policy updates, rule modifications, migrations, upgrades, and configuration cleanup.
• Work closely with client technical teams, project teams, and internal resources to resolve issues and complete project tasks.
• Support Fortinet management tools such as FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer, when applicable.
• Document configurations, support activity, troubleshooting steps, and project updates.
• Follow established change management, security, documentation, and escalation procedures.
• Provide clear communication and regular status updates to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Active Fortinet NSE 7 certification is required.
• Strong hands‑on experience with FortiGate firewall engineering, implementation, and administration.
• Experience supporting Fortinet implementation or rollout projects.
• Experience supporting enterprise‑level or multi‑location network environments.
• Strong understanding of firewall policies, NAT, IPsec VPN, SSL VPN, routing, VLANs, high availability, and network security best practices.
• Experience troubleshooting complex firewall, routing, VPN, and connectivity issues.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, SD‑WAN, and enterprise network infrastructure.
• Ability to work remotely on a full‑time, 40‑hour‑per‑week contract schedule.
• Strong communication, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer.
• Experience supporting large environments with hundreds of branch, retail, healthcare, financial, or enterprise locations.
• Fortinet SD‑WAN implementation or support experience.
• Experience with Fortinet Security Fabric, IPS, web filtering, application control, and centralized firewall management.
• Prior client‑facing consulting or professional services experience.
• Additional certifications such as NSE 4, NSE 6, NSE 8, CCNA, CCNP, Security+, or equivalent.

The ideal candidate is a certified Fortinet professional who has supported large‑scale implementation, rollout, and support projects. This person should be comfortable working remotely, communicating with client teams, troubleshooting complex issues, and supporting Fortinet infrastructure across a large multi‑site environment.
