Job Overview
West End Plastic Surgery is seeking a seasoned Operating Room Nurse Manager to lead perioperative operations during an exciting phase of expansion. This role is ideal for an experienced OR leader who brings strong clinical judgment, team leadership, operational excellence, and a commitment to delivering exceptional surgical care in a luxury aesthetic practice.
West End Plastic Surgery is a premier aesthetic surgery practice known for clinical excellence, discretion, safety, and an elevated patient experience. We currently operate two operating rooms and are expanding into a new surgical facility with four operating rooms and a nine-bed recovery suite, including the capability to care for up to four 23‑hour post‑operative stay patients. Our facility is currently AAAASF Level C accredited and is preparing to pursue Medicare certification and The Joint Commission accreditation.

What You Will Do
- Lead day‑to‑day perioperative operations with a strong focus on patient safety, efficiency, clinical excellence, and team culture
- Supervise and support the perioperative nursing team, fostering accountability, professionalism, empowerment, and collaboration
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, patient flow, and resource coordination across the operating room and recovery environment
- Partner closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, recovery staff, and leadership to ensure seamless communication and an exceptional standard of care
- Maintain rigorous standards for sterile technique, infection prevention, clinical documentation, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance
- Support ongoing compliance with AAAASF standards and readiness efforts for Medicare and The Joint Commission
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, coaching, staff development, and performance management
- Help develop, implement, and refine policies, procedures, and workflows that support a growing surgical platform
- Monitor quality indicators, incident reporting, documentation accuracy, and process improvement initiatives
- Support thoughtful resource stewardship through strong operational planning, supply utilization, and budget awareness
- Ensure effective use of clinical and documentation systems, including Nextech and Surglogs
- Encourage evidence‑based practice and an interest in research as it applies to perioperative and operative care
- Support safe post‑operative recovery, including extended observation and 23‑hour stay capability
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license in the District of Columbia in good standing
- BSN required; MSN preferred
- Significant operating room nursing experience required
- Prior leadership experience in an operating room, ambulatory surgery center, or surgical services setting required
- Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing, sterile technique, patient safety, infection prevention, recovery workflows, and regulatory standards
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively and maintain high standards in a fast‑paced surgical environment
- Experience with staff development, operational planning, and performance improvement
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR and surgical documentation systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, or ambulatory surgery
- Experience with accreditation, survey readiness, and regulatory compliance
- Familiarity with AAAASF, Medicare certification, and The Joint Commission
- Experience supporting post‑operative recovery and extended observation patients
- CNOR preferred
- Interest in process improvement, outcomes review, and perioperative research
