Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are looking for a dedicated Payroll Admin to join our team in New Orleans, Louisiana. This role is pivotal in overseeing payroll processes, resolving employee inquiries, and supporting accounting functions to ensure efficiency and accuracy. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical abilities, exceptional communication skills, and a keen attention to detail to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities:
• Process payroll accurately and efficiently using Viewpoint Vista software, including auditing and reconciling payroll data for assigned employee groups.
• Investigate and resolve first-level payroll issues, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
• Prepare and submit weekly certified payroll reports while maintaining compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Manage paycheck adjustments, ensuring wages, taxes, garnishments, and deductions are calculated correctly.
• Set up new employees in HH2 time tracking systems and maintain cash fringe templates.
• Handle union dues processing and submission for applicable union employees.
• Track, audit, and approve federal paid sick leave requests, ensuring accrual balances are accurately maintained.
• Assist with payroll-related reporting and special projects as assigned to support the Accounting and Payroll team.
• Collaborate with the Controller on monthly financial tasks, including payroll taxes, balance sheet reconciliations, and inventory management.
• Generate ad-hoc payments and address special requests promptly.• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in payroll processing and administration.
• Certified Payroll Certification (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is preferred but not required.
• Proven ability to work independently and resolve complex payroll issues proactively.
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on delivering timely support.
• Advanced proficiency in software systems, including Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging with employees at all levels.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and attention to detail.
