This permanent, full time position offers the chance to be part of a supportive and high performing team. You’ll contribute to the day today operations of the College and support staff by ensuring payroll processes run smoothly, accurately, and compliantly.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for processing all fortnightly payrolls and payroll related matters, maintaining accuracy and integrity of payroll system data and assist staff and management with all payroll related queries. You will work closely with finance team members, Human Resources as well as teaching and non-teaching staff across the College community.
Key responsibilities
- Accountable for the end-to-end Payroll Function.
- Process fortnightly payroll within set timeframes.
- Maintain accurate employee records and payroll systems.
- Prepare and verify payroll data and timesheets for regular pay cycles.
- Process staff changes, including onboarding, contract renewals, terminations, and salary updates.
- Manage leave records and entitlements in line with policy and EBAs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant awards, EBAs, and Fair Work requirements.
- Support audit and internal reporting processes and respond to payroll queries.
- Liaise with internal and external Stakeholders
About You
You are organised and take pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work with a customer service focus. You bring:
- 3+ years’ experience in a relevant Payroll role including working in an industry with employment conditions underpinned by an Award/Enterprise Agreement;
- Demonstrable experience working with established payroll systems (Ascender or JD Edwards highly regarded);
- Strong data entry and administrative skills, with a high degree of accuracy;
- Understanding of payroll compliance, privacy, and employment legislation;
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills;
- Current Blue Card (or eligibility) and willingness to undergo a National Police Check
