Pharmacist
Location: Houston, TX
Pay Rate: Starting at $71.00/hour
Schedule: Night Shift 7:30 PM - 7:30 AM (7 on / 7 off)
Dean's Professional Services is actively seeking an experienced Pharmacist to support a fast-paced, patient-focused hospital setting in Houston, TX. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong clinical knowledge and experience in sterile compounding who is committed to delivering safe and effective pharmaceutical care across all patient populations.
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and safety based on patient diagnosis, weight, allergies, and potential drug interactions
- Accurately enter and process medication orders in the pharmacy system
- Ensure timely and accurate dispensing of medications in accordance with hospital guidelines
- Prepare and oversee sterile compounding using proper aseptic technique and infection control standards
- Monitor for and prevent potential medication errors or adverse drug events
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to optimize patient care
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and pharmacy best practices
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and maintain accurate documentation
- Support and guide pharmacy technicians to ensure safe and efficient workflow
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. required
- Active, unrestricted RPH license in the State of Texas required
- Minimum of 2+ years of hospital pharmacist experience preferred
- Experience with sterile compounding and medication preparation strongly preferred
- Completion of sterile compounding training (ACPE or ASHP accredited) preferred
- Strong attention to detail, clinical judgment, and communication skills
