JOB REQUIREMENTS

Licenses: Active unrestricted VA Medical License

Board: Board Certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine

DEA: Active DEA with VA address and schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5

Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, and PALS required if not BC in EM or EM-trained; NRP required for non-ABEM providers

Experience: EM residency graduates within the past 12 months may be considered; 3-month proctorship required for new graduates

Other Qualifications: ECFMG required for foreign medical graduates; ability to supervise NP and PA providers

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide emergency medical evaluation and treatment to patients of all ages

Perform emergency procedures and stabilization as needed

Supervise and collaborate with NP and PA providers

Document patient encounters accurately within Epic EMR

Maintain compliance with facility credentialing and immunization requirements
