Are you ready to step into a high-impact leadership position and shape the future of our Terminal Tractor Plant Operations? As ourPlant Director, you will be the driving force behind our LEAN transformation and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the President of Terminal Tractors, you won't just oversee daily operations—you will champion change management, empower your team, and cultivate a high-performing culture to exceed our ambitious financial and operational goals.
What are your key responsibilities:
Safety First: Ensure a safe work environment by building and driving a strong "safety first" culture across all areas of assembly and manufacturing.
Operational Excellence & Budgeting: Define and execute assembly operations budgets, deliver unit output as per forecasts, and continuously monitor costs, efficiency, and productivity to optimize own resources.
Continuous Improvement (LEAN): Drive continuous improvement, productivity, and assembly excellence by implementing and monitoring work processes according to the Kalmar 4.0 LEAN production system.
Transformational Leadership: Hire, develop, and retain a high-performing team. Drive transformational leadership with line management and foster cross-functional collaboration.
Union Partnership & Culture: Successfully partner with Union leaders and representatives to achieve a positive, productive work culture and high employee engagement aligned with Kalmar’s core values.
Stakeholder Communication: Ensure the right flow of information and collaborate closely with services, sales, divisions, and other global stakeholders.

What you bring to the role:
Educational Foundation: A B.A./B.S. or Master's degree in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or another relevant degree, combined with LEAN training or certification.
Industry Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience with heavy vehicle multi-assembly or manufacturing.
Transformational Leadership: Proven success in driving lean transformation and operational performance management (e.g., Tier meeting escalations, daily Leadership Gemba), along with solid experience leading within a labor union environment.
Safety Commitment: A demonstrated ability to drive a "safety first" culture, acting as a role model through your behaviors and showing a strong focus on people.
Business Acumen: Strong financial and analytical abilities, coupled with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Global Mindset: Demonstrated leadership experience in a diverse, multicultural setting with international stakeholders and fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
