Plant Director – Arecibo, PR
Responsible for managing daily plant operations, ensuring compliance with quality and food safety standards, leading manufacturing process improvements, overseeing staff development, managing budgets and plant profitability, and coordinating with other departments.
Responsibilities
- Direct and optimize daily plant operations.
- Ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, among others).
- Oversee manufacturing processes to maximize productivity and reduce costs.
- Lead, develop, and evaluate staff across production, maintenance, quality, and logistics.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with local and international food safety and workplace regulations.
- Coordinate with other departments (procurement, logistics, sales) to ensure efficient production flow.
- Manage budgets, operating costs, and plant profitability.
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment and facilities.
- Lead internal and external audits.
Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Food Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8‑10 years of experience in the food industry, with at least 3‑5 years in leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and quality systems.
- Experience in operations management and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma).
- Strong leadership, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure with a results‑oriented mindset.
- Background check required.
