Job Description
The acquisition of conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarines is an historic and transformative endeavour for Australia. The whole-of-nation effort to safely and securely deliver the cutting-edge nuclear-powered submarine program will transform Australia’s economic and national security landscape for decades to come.
As an APS 5 Officer, you will support key education and policy functions by managing administrative processes, assisting with STEM program coordination, and preparing well-structured draft briefs and correspondence. You will maintain accurate records, conduct targeted research, and help ensure compliance across sovereign courses and policy frameworks.
You will engage with education partners and internal stakeholders on routine matters, support audit and assurance activities, and contribute to updates to course information, career pathway materials and policy documents. Your ability to organise workflow and apply established procedures will ensure consistent, reliable program support.
Through your attention to detail, stakeholder engagement and contribution to team outcomes, you will help strengthen the Directorate’s role in developing a resilient, high-quality technical workforce.
APS 5 – Naval Nuclear Propulsion Training Programs & Delivery Role
As an APS 5 Officer, you will support the delivery of international and domestic training programs through coordination, administration and learner support activities. You will maintain data accuracy across learning systems, prepare and distribute routine correspondence and status reports, and contribute to the development of well-structured draft briefs.
You will engage with training providers, universities and internal stakeholders on operational matters, ensure learners receive timely information and respond to enquiries within service standards. You will organise your own workflow, follow procedures and solve practical problems to support and maintain training efficiency.
You will contribute to record keeping, curriculum updates and continuous improvement activities to help sustain the Directorate’s delivery of high-quality technical training pathways.
