Powertrain (PT) Lead - Automotive Systems Location: Pune / Bangalore Experience: 10-12 Years Notice Period: Immediate to 30 Days
Job Overview:We are looking for an experienced Powertrain (PT) Lead to drive end-to-end technical ownership of powertrain systems across vehicle platforms. This role will define system architecture, lead delivery, and act as the primary interface between customers (OEMs) and internal teams, ensuring high-quality execution across ICE, Hybrid, and EV programs.
Key Responsibilities:Own end-to-end Powertrain Electronics architecture across multiple ECUs and vehicle platforms (ICE, Hybrid, EV)Lead system-level requirements engineering, including decomposition, allocation, and traceability using tools like DOORS / PolarisAct as the primary technical interface with OEMs for architecture reviews, escalations, and change managementEnsure compliance with Functional Safety (ISO 26262), ASPICE (Level 3+), Cybersecurity, and OEM standardsMake critical technical decisions (go/no-go) balancing cost, quality, timelines, and riskLead system and vehicle-level root cause analysis for development, integration, and field issuesDrive execution tracking and collaboration using JIRA and ConfluenceMentor validation engineers and cross-functional teams, ensuring best practices and technical rigorSupport business initiatives including proposals, feasibility studies, estimation, and risk assessment
Required Skills:10-12 years of experience in automotive Powertrain systemsStrong expertise in ICE, Hybrid, and EV architecturesDeep understanding of ECU system architecture, diagnostics, flashing, and in-vehicle networksHands-on experience in requirements management and traceability (DOORS / Polaris)Proven experience working with OEMs and influencing technical decisionsStrong system-level thinking with focus on delivery, quality, and business outcomesExperience in safety-critical and process-driven environments (ASPICE, ISO 26262, Cybersecurity)Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Good to Have:Experience across multiple vehicle platforms and global programsExposure to advanced powertrain technologies and electrification trendsStrong background in cross-functional collaboration and large-scale program delivery

Education:Bachelor's / Master's in Electrical, Electronics, Automotive, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering
