The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic, strategic Practice Administrator to lead operations for a highly complex, fast-growing home-based primary care practice in Richmond, VA.
In this role, you will oversee a large, multidisciplinary team supporting:
- 15+ providers
- 20+ nurses
- Lab Technicians, Medical Assistants, Community Health Workers, and more
This is a high-impact leadership position for an experienced operator who thrives in complex, decentralized healthcare environments and understands how to align clinical excellence with operational and financial performance-especially within value-based care models and ACOs.
You will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Operations and collaborate closely with leadership across finance, technology, and marketing-allowing you to stay focused on driving operational excellence and growth.
What You'll Do
Operational Leadership
- Lead day-to-day operations of a multi-disciplinary, field-based care model
- Drive seamless coordination across clinical and support teams
- Design and implement scalable workflows to support rapid growth
- Monitor and optimize KPIs related to access, quality, patient satisfaction, and cost
Team Leadership & Culture
- Inspire, coach, and develop clinical and administrative leaders
- Build a collaborative, mission-driven culture focused on exceptional patient care
- Partner with clinical leadership to optimize staffing and workforce utilization
Value-Based Care & ACO Performance
- Align operations with value-based care strategies and ACO initiatives
- Drive performance across quality metrics, utilization, and cost of care
- Collaborate cross-functionally to succeed in risk-based contracts
Clinical Operations Support
- Partner with medical and nursing leadership to ensure high standards of care
- Enhance care models for medically complex, homebound populations
- Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to best practices
Technology & Systems
- Optimize use of Athena EMR (preferred)
- Improve workflows, documentation, and reporting through technology
- Strengthen data integrity to support quality and financial outcomes
Financial Management
- Oversee resource allocation and cost controls
- Partner with finance on forecasting and performance improvement
- Balance operational efficiency with exceptional patient care
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's (MHA, MBA, or related) preferred
- 8-10+ years of progressive healthcare operations leadership
- Proven success managing complex care delivery organizations
- Deep experience with ACOs and value-based care models
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare regulations
- Experience with Athena EMR preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams
