Job Description
Allied Resources Technical Consultants is seeking an experienced Principal Systems Administrator to support enterprise application lifecycle management and internally developed business systems in an industrial environment. This role is responsible for leading and supporting all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Software Lifecycle Planning (SLCP) processes, with primary focus on internally developed applications supporting document management and operator shift handover operations.
The ideal candidate brings deep systems analysis expertise, strong project management capabilities, and advanced troubleshooting skills, with the ability to oversee application performance, security, compliance, and vendor lifecycle alignment.

Responsibilities
- Lead and support all phases of the SDLC and SLCP for multiple enterprise applications.
- Gather, organize, and document business and functional requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Conduct systems analysis and design activities to support application development and enhancements.
- Develop detailed project plans, milestones, and work breakdown structures to ensure timely delivery.
- Manage full project lifecycles including scope, resources, scheduling, design, build, testing, and deployment.
- Monitor project status, risks, and deliverables; prepare standard and ad hoc reporting for leadership.
- Facilitate stakeholder reviews, approvals, and project sign-offs.
- Coordinate with transition and operational teams to introduce new system capabilities into production environments.
- Conduct post-implementation “lessons learned” sessions to validate delivery outcomes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Oversee application performance, system usage, and operational stability.
- Ensure proper application security, patch management, and vendor support compliance.
- Troubleshoot complex application issues and perform performance tuning activities.
- Support enterprise application integrations and data management initiatives.
- Evaluate and interpret functional specifications for complex custom development efforts.
- Provide technical and functional consulting support across business and IT teams.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and actively contribute to operational excellence initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- 8+ years of experience delivering enterprise application solutions.
- Strong understanding of Software Lifecycle Planning (SLCP) and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Proficiency with relational database systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, or similar platforms.
- Experience integrating enterprise applications across business systems.
- Strong project management experience; PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
- Advanced troubleshooting, performance tuning, and root cause analysis skills.
- Strong systems analysis and solution design capabilities.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Ability to deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated initiative, ownership, and proactive problem-solving mindset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and MS Project.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Primarily office-based environment with moderate noise levels.
- May require occasional work within operational units requiring proper PPE (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection).
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use standard computer equipment for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting up to 15 pounds.
- Strong digital dexterity required for computer-based work.
