Procurement ManagerLocation: Doncaster, South YorkshireSalary: CompetitiveVacancy Type: Full time, PermanentThe Procurement Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement function within a food manufacturing environment. This includes sourcing raw materials and packaging, negotiating supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and delivering cost efficiencies while maintaining product quality and supply continuity.Duties:Procurement & SourcingDevelop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectivesSource and evaluate suppliers for raw materials, ingredients, and packagingNegotiate pricing, contracts, and service level agreements to achieve best valueSupplier ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with key suppliersMonitor supplier performance against KPIs (quality, cost, delivery)Conduct regular supplier reviews and auditsCost ManagementIdentify and deliver cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safetyMonitor commodity markets and manage price fluctuationsPrepare and manage procurement budgets and forecastsFood Safety & ComplianceEnsure all suppliers meet relevant food safety and quality standards (e.g., HACCP, BRC, ISO)Maintain full traceability of materials in line with regulatory requirementsSupport internal and external auditsSupply Chain CoordinationWork closely with production, planning, and logistics teams to ensure material availabilityManage inventory levels, minimising waste and avoiding stockoutsOversee supplier lead times and delivery schedulesRisk ManagementIdentify and mitigate supply chain risks (e.g., supplier dependency, disruptions)Develop contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategiesSkills & ExperienceKey Skills & ExperienceProven experience in procurement within a food manufacturing or FMCG environmentStrong negotiation and contract management skillsKnowledge of food safety regulations and quality standardsExperience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)Professional procurement qualification (e.g., CIPS) desirableKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)Cost savings and budget adherenceSupplier performance (quality, delivery, reliability)Stock availability and inventory turnoverCompliance with food safety and regulatory standardsTo Apply .If you feel you are a suitable candidate and would like to work for Chesterfield Poultry, please do not hesitate to apply.
