Product Manager
Welsbach Group
Job Description
About Welsbach
Welsbach was founded in 2021 with a singular vision: to become Asia's leading bridge between high-growth companies and global capital markets.
Our team of seasoned investment banking professionals, with decades of combined experience at tier-one institutions including Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank, and Macquarie, recognized the critical opportunity in cross-border SPAC and IPO transactions across Asia–West corridors.
Welsbach is hiring for one of our portfolio companies building the AI operating layer for enterprises.
The company focuses on deploying AI agents that execute real business workflows across sales, operations, finance, and customer support — not dashboards or copilots.
Their approach:
- High-value enterprise deployments
- Converted into scalable Agent-as-a-Service (AGaaS) products
Role Overview
Welsbach is seeking an AI first Product Manager to lead the design and delivery of intelligent banking, finance, and capital markets products building with AI at the core from day one.
This role sits at the intersection of AI, product, engineering, and finance. You will take an AI first approach to building products thinking about how LLMs, agents, and intelligent automation can power every workflow before considering traditional solutions.
You will work closely with AI engineers, full-stack developers, and banking & finance domain experts to ship AI-native products that transform how deals are originated, managed, and executed.
You will own the end-to-end product lifecycle of AI-first features, including systems that assist with financial research, document intelligence, workflow automation, and data-driven decision support across the investment banking lifecycle.
This includes defining product requirements for AI-first features in banking and finance contexts — from AI-powered origination and deal pipeline assistants, to intelligent document processing, compliance automation, and credit decision support systems.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Platform Delivery
- Own end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of AI-first platform initiatives across banking, finance, and capital markets ensuring AI is the default solution, not an afterthought.
- Convert business needs into clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and structured delivery plans.
- Build and manage detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and dependencies.
- Drive sprint planning, prioritization, release readiness, and post-launch retrospectives.
- Act as the single point of accountability for assigned initiatives and outcomes.
- Drive AI-first product initiatives from intelligent origination pipelines and deal flow automation to AI-assisted research, document intelligence, and real-time decision support tools for banking and capital markets.
- Lead the product design of AI agents and intelligent workflow systems for banking and finance use cases — including sales and origination automation, deal intelligence, credit analysis assistants, and investor research tools.
Cross-Function Coordination
- Partner with product and engineering teams to define scope, sequencing, and delivery trade-offs.
- Coordinate with capital markets stakeholders to translate deal workflows into structured product features (pipeline management, mandate setup, data rooms, investor outreach, compliance checkpoints, reporting).
- Support the integration of AI-enabled capabilities into product workflows, including systems that assist with research, document analysis, and knowledge extraction.
- Facilitate clear communication across internal stakeholders and external vendors where required.
- Proactively manage expectations, unblock dependencies, and ensure timely decision-making.
Technical Execution Support
- Translate between business and technical teams with working knowledge across:
- Front-end concepts (UX flows, dashboards, role-based views)
- Back-end concepts (APIs, services, workflows, permissions, integrations)
- Full-stack delivery lifecycle (feature scoping, QA, release management, performance and security considerations)
- Support technical discovery by aligning on architecture implications, integration needs, and edge cases.
- Define and validate product requirements for AI-native banking & finance features — including LLM-powered document analysis, AI-assisted underwriting, origination copilots, and intelligent data extraction from financial instruments.
- Ensure delivery quality through testing coordination, bug triage, and release validation.
Risk Management & Reporting
- Identify delivery risks early (scope creep, unclear requirements, technical constraints, stakeholder latency) and implement mitigation plans.
- Maintain structured project documentation: trackers, RAID logs, sprint notes, change logs, and decision logs.
- Provide leadership with concise, decision-ready updates and executive summaries.
- Track post-release adoption and drive iteration based on usage and stakeholder feedback.
- Track adoption and impact of AI-first product capabilities across banking, finance, and sales/origination workflows, ensuring they deliver meaningful improvements to internal workflows.
Process & Execution Excellence
- Continuously improve delivery frameworks and internal workflows to increase velocity and predictability.
- Implement lightweight governance mechanisms for documentation, approvals, and audit readiness where appropriate.
- Help build a scalable execution cadence across concurrent initiatives in a fast-moving environment.
- Support the evolution of internal platforms that incorporate automation, intelligent systems, and data-driven insights into the advisory workflow.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
- Strong foundational understanding of either technology or finance, with the ability to operate effectively across both.
Professional Experience
- 5+ years of product management experience, with meaningful exposure to banking & finance products, sales and origination platforms, or capital markets technology.
- Demonstrated experience building or shipping AI-first products ideally in banking, lending, wealth management, trade finance, or sales and origination workflows.
- Proven track record shipping products using Agile methodologies with a strong preference for candidates who have shipped AI/ML-powered features in production.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts (LLMs, RAG, agents, embeddings) and the ability to define product requirements for AI-native features this is a core requirement, not a nice-to-have.
- Deep familiarity with banking & finance product domains including credit & lending, sales and origination pipelines, treasury, trade finance, or investment banking workflows and the ability to apply AI to transform these domains.
