What this Journey Looks Like
Pearster is looking for a skilled Product Owner to join a leading Canadian-based fintech client. This role is responsible for shaping product strategy, translating requirements into actionable goals, and managing a backlog 3-4 sprints ahead. The Product Owner ensures quality standards are met, supports product demos, and leads agile ceremonies.
Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills are key to driving team alignment and nurturing a collaborative, innovative culture that encourages continuous learning and growth.
What You'll Lead and Build
Collaborate with a Product Owner to shape the end-to-end product strategy and determine business value
Translate product requirements to accomplish team goals for the product development and supporting system needs. These should be defined and tracked in collaboration with the developers and the functional units.
Work in collaboration with the Product Owner in utilizing market and industry knowledge to translate user needs into user stories and epics, with clearly defined acceptance criteria for their team. Support, maintain a backlog 3 to 4 sprints ahead of the team.
Defining quality metrics and ensures the product/change delivered meets the business requirement
Day-to-day contact for the team on clarification of requirements and drive user stories
Exercise strong decision-making mandate across the team as a proxy to the product owner
Stay in sync with the product owners on priorities and day to day decision making
Work in collaboration with the product owners and other teams and leadership to ensure team strategy aligns with overall product vision
Collaborate with product owners in defining, implement and track performance metrics once solution enters production
Prep and support the team on product demos
Able to analyze complex scenarios based on knowledge of the product, applications, processes, and data, and provide analysis to the PO/FPO where necessary.
What You Bring to the Table
Agile/Digital Experience
Experienced in facilitating agile ceremonies, managing a backlog/release plan, tracking team level metrics, removing blockers (burndown chart, release burn up, etc.)
Some experience leading / working with teams in an agile setting as an analyst
Individual Skills
Strong verbal and written, communication skills with ability to present complex messages and enhance stakeholder relationships.
Able to articulate product/system requirements and facilitate/coordinate in collaboration of PO with development teams and stakeholders.
Strong problem solver with ability to lead the team to push the solution and progress
