Job Description
Subsidiary: MILLER GROUP Location: Halifax About the Role Reporting to the project manager, you will assist with overall project performance including costs, schedule, quality, and project status. You will support operations of the projects and maintain positive relationships with crews, sub‑contractors and clients. Responsibilities In this role you will: Complete necessary documentation such as progress payment certificates and subcontractor payments.
Adhere to construction regulations and assist with planning of work schedules. Support superintendents in supervising crews on site. Review key project milestones and resolve any urgent issues.
Ensure strict deadlines are met while maintaining high standards of quality and client satisfaction. Requirements Civil Engineering Technician/Technologist Diploma or Construction Technician/Management Diploma is an asset. Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide‑ranging climates and environments.
Strong mathematical and computer skills (experience with Microsoft Office, MS Project, Sidetrack, Bid2Win, or equivalent programs). Knowledge of construction, with ability to read plans and specifications. Knowledge of NSTIR and HRM specifications and practices.
Contract experience is an asset. Strong work ethic. Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies. Demonstrated organizational and time‑management skills.
Vehicle and valid driver’s license. Good understanding of budgets, costing and time tracking. Willingness to work flexible hours including nights and/or weekends as required by construction schedules.
