Job Description
Responsibilities
Document and monitor existing utility infrastructure, environmental conditions, geo‑technical conditions, stormwater management, and traffic control. Project Engineer will manage and coordinate this information with the local jurisdiction to ensure construction progress is within the parameters outlined by the scope. Review general contractor safety plan and confirm each subcontractor is adhering to these safety requirements as construction progresses.
Walk to the site and take photo documentation of construction progress, save files for records. Coordinate contractors, third‑party consultants, testing and inspections in the field with the general contractor to validate inspections are in line with permitted set of drawings. Review and monitor shop drawings, submittals, RFI’s and track changes in documentation to be sure what is installed in the field is correct.
Assist with coordination of owner‑purchased equipment. Facilitate the architect’s development of the punch‑list and building turnover for client. Oversee construction contracts and documentation closeout.
Monitor building system commissioning and startup of equipment. Coordinate and record meetings with key project stakeholders (internal & external). Support, coordinate and attend Multi‑Disciplinary Team and Joint Management Team meetings.
Organize and coordinate Technical Engineering, Cost, Contractor and Scheduling meetings on behalf of the Senior Project Manager. Facilitate internal communications within the Project Delivery Team. Assist the Senior Project Manager in delivering the List of Deliverables (LOD).
Develop and implement management systems, as required, supporting delivery and quality as specified by the Project Controls Department. Ability to display and communicate a logical thought process, with excellent analytical skills, including capabilities for budget analysis.
Travel
Requires up to 50% domestic travel between multiple active project sites, client offices, contractor facilities, and stakeholder meeting locations within the region. Travel is required regularly and routinely, often multiple times per day, depending on project demands, site inspections, coordination meetings, and construction oversight activities. The role requires same‑day, local travel between sites to support ongoing project management responsibilities.
All travel is domestic and regional (usually within the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Area) in nature, with no international travel required.
Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field AND 2 years of work experience in the job offered or related occupation in Construction.
- Alternative: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field AND 4 years of work experience in the job offered or related occupation in Construction.
Specific Skills
- Front‑End Planning (FEP) using Microsoft Project and Bluebeam Revu.
- Resource Management and Allocation tool such as Primavera P6.
- Quality Control (QC) tools: PROCORE, Raken, Bluebeam Revu and Site Audit Pro.
- Documentation Management software: Autodesk Construction Cloud, Site Audit PRO, Raken, Microsoft Planner, SharePoint, One Note, and Excel.
- Field Maps & ArcGIS.

Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $132,246.00 to $133,125.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
