Project Management Officer

Job: PMO Manager Location: Exeter, UK (Hybrid – 2 Days On-site per Week) Work Type: Contract – Initial 6 Months (Inside IR35) Introduction We are currently seeking an experienced PMO Manager to support a large-scale Digital Transformation programme for our client based in Exeter. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned PMO professional with strong stakeholder management capabilities and experience working within technology-driven environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving PMO governance, programme reporting, RAID management, and delivery coordination across multiple workstreams, working closely with senior stakeholders and technical teams including DevOps engineers.

Key Responsibilities Lead and manage PMO activities across ongoing digital transformation initiatives Oversee governance, reporting, planning, and programme controls Manage and maintain RAID logs, ensuring risks and issues are tracked and mitigated effectively Coordinate cross-functional delivery activities across technical and business teams Engage with senior stakeholders to provide clear programme visibility and status reporting Support resource planning, dependencies, and delivery timelines Ensure PMO best practices, standards, and processes are consistently applied Manage and mentor PMO team members where required Required Experience & Skills Minimum 5 years’ experience working within PMO functions Proven experience managing sizeable PMO teams Strong stakeholder management and communication skills Experience supporting large-scale Digital Transformation programmes Previous experience working alongside technical teams, ideally DevOps engineers Strong expertise in RAID log management and programme governance Excellent organisational and coordination skills Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced delivery environments Desirable Experience within Agile or hybrid delivery environments Familiarity with project delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or similar Previous experience within enterprise IT or technology transformation programmes Working Arrangement Hybrid working model – 2 days per week on-site in Exeter Initial 6-month contract Inside IR35 If you are an experienced PMO Manager with a strong background in digital and technology transformation programmes, we would be keen to hear from you.
