Project Manager (remote)

Overview

Description: The Client is seeking a senior technical Project Manager to manage and deliver a complex IT project(s) with multiple teams and workstreams coordinated to an aggressive delivery schedule. Under the program manager, the project manager is responsible for the outcome of the assigned projects. The project manager leads the team through the Standard for Project Management for successful completion of the project phases: Pre-Select, Initiation, Planning, Execution and Control and Closeout.

Theselected candidate will:

• Serve as a hands-on technical project manager with development staff and business groups.
• Coordinate and communicate with IT management and staff to coordinate work tasks and resourcing.
• Communicate timelines and expectations to technical and business staff.
• Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and contractors in the execution of projects, including contract management and working with the procurement office(s).
• Adhere to CLIENT project management practices and governance requirements; coordinate with CLIENT Project Management Offices.
• Maintain project budget, plans, tasks, schedules, risks, and status and disseminate information to team members and customers as defined in the communications plan.
• Ensure documentation of requirements and use cases, and facilitate design workshops for assigned project.
• Ensure definition of test objectives, design test plans and test cases for the assigned project.
• Provide management of project milestones and deliverables for on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Define, measure, and clearly communicate progress with metrics.
• Support system and application training efforts.

Qualifications

Required:

• The candidate must have a minimum of 8 years experience managing large projects and a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience in IT Infrastructure delivery (networking, physical plant, vendor management, site provisioning).
• Experience managing large, multi-stream projects.

Preferred:

• Experience in both Agile and Waterfall project management.
• Agile Scrum Master certification
• Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, Project Server)

PMP certification from PMI or PM certification from CLIENT is required - no other certification qualifies.

Skills

• Current Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) Required 10 Years
• Candidate must have a minimum of 15 years experience managing large projects Required 15 Years
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall project management principles. Required 5 Years
• Balance business/technical background with sufficient level of technical background to provide highly credible leadership to technology teams. Nice to have 3 Years
• Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, Project Server) Required 5 Years
• Bachelor Degree Required
