Overview

Our client is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join an innovative, evidence-based outpatient psychiatry practice. This role offers the opportunity to work in a patient-centric environment focused on empathy, collaboration, and clinical innovation.

The PMHNP will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering advanced psychiatric care, including novel treatment approaches, while supporting patients with complex mental health needs in an outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including assessment of mental status, current psychiatric symptoms, functioning, and relevant health history
• Administer treatment plans in accordance with standardized procedures
• Deliver advanced treatments such as TMS and esketamine while monitoring patient responses and adjusting care as needed
• Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and symptom management strategies
• Provide brief psychotherapeutic interventions alongside evaluation and management services per standardized procedures
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation of clinical encounters within an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Accurately code clinical encounters using appropriate CPT and diagnosis codes
• Establish and maintain professional, positive relationships with patients and colleagues

• Minimum of one year of post-education experience in outpatient or inpatient psychiatric settings
• Master's degree or higher from an accredited institution
• Valid, current, unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner license
• Valid California furnishing license with no disciplinary actions
• Active California DEA registration
• ANCC Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) board certification
• Ability to practice autonomously
• Experience with child, adolescent, or adult patient populations
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR)
• Telehealth experience and high comfort level with technology
