Overview
Our client is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join an innovative, evidence-based outpatient psychiatry practice. This role offers the opportunity to work in a patient-centric environment focused on empathy, collaboration, and clinical innovation.
The PMHNP will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering advanced psychiatric care, including novel treatment approaches, while supporting patients with complex mental health needs in an outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including assessment of mental status, current psychiatric symptoms, functioning, and relevant health history
- Administer treatment plans in accordance with standardized procedures
- Deliver advanced treatments such as TMS and esketamine while monitoring patient responses and adjusting care as needed
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and symptom management strategies
- Provide brief psychotherapeutic interventions alongside evaluation and management services per standardized procedures
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation of clinical encounters within an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Accurately code clinical encounters using appropriate CPT and diagnosis codes
- Establish and maintain professional, positive relationships with patients and colleagues
- Minimum of one year of post-education experience in outpatient or inpatient psychiatric settings
- Master's degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Valid, current, unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner license
- Valid California furnishing license with no disciplinary actions
- Active California DEA registration
- ANCC Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) board certification
- Ability to practice autonomously
- Experience with child, adolescent, or adult patient populations
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR)
- Telehealth experience and high comfort level with technology
