Job Title: Psychotherapist & Pastoral Support Worker
Reports To: Visionary Committee & Session

We are seeking a devoted, clinically trained Psychotherapist & Pastoral Support Worker to join our congregation and serve the broader community. This role uniquely combines therapeutic care, group facilitation, and pastoral leadership – integrating faith with mental and emotional well‑being.
Key Responsibilities
- Therapeutic & Clinical Support
- Provide psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families as appropriate
- Facilitate group therapy sessions focused on healing, resilience, and spiritual growth.
- Integrate faith‑based perspectives with sound therapeutic practices.
- Community & Congregational Engagement
- Build strong relationships within the congregation and local community.
- Develop programs that promote mental, emotional, and spiritual well‑being.
- Collaborate with session, external partners, members and adherence to support holistic care.
- Refer individuals to community partners if the work is outside the scope of the position.
Pastoral & Spiritual Leadership
- Preach and teach the Gospel with a strong foundation in Christian Reformed Theology.
- Lead worship services approximately twice a month.
- Offer spiritual direction and pastoral counselling as required
- Encourage reflection and application of biblical principles in personal growth.
Scope & Work Structure
- The role includes autonomy in managing a therapy caseload, within agreed guidelines and oversight.
- Coordination with the session, Visionary Committee, and external collaborators will be essential.
- Work hours may vary; over a two‑week period, commitment may reach up to 75 hours, with scheduling flexibility as operational needs require.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Psychospiritual Studies or equivalent.
- Training and experience in group therapy facilitation.
- Demonstrate beliefs and practices consistent with those of the Presbyterian Church of Canada.
- Strong Christian faith.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate faith and mental health practices.
- Licensed or registered psychotherapist (or eligible for registration.
- Operates out of a personal theology consistent with a christian reform tradition.

- Creativity- Able to design engaging, meaningful worship, and therapy experiences.
- Collaboration – Works well with leadership team members, and community partners.
- Flexibility – Hours of work can be up to 75 hours bi‑weekly; however, hours of work will be decided based on operational needs.
- Technical – Create reports and presentations to support case management, and worship services.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in both clinical therapeutic settings and church ministry contexts.
- Experience working with individuals undergoing life transitions (grief, vocational change, faith crises, relational stress, etc.).
Compensation & Benefits
- $85,000+ per annum based on market reference, experience and qualifications.
