The Opportunity
Were looking for a strategic and hands-on Procurement Manager to own and drive sourcing, purchasing, and supply-chain coordination across PermaCorps manufacturing and construction operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated professional to build something that lasts and make a real impact on how our business operates.
Reporting to the Financial Controller and working closely with Operations, youll lead supplier negotiations, manage procurement records, and ensure materials and services are in place to keep projects on schedule. Youll be the go-to partner for sourcing strategy, cost control, and vendor relationships across the organization.
What Youll Own
Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors including raw-material providers, equipment vendors, and service contractors that meet company standards for quality, reliability, and price.
- Lead contract negotiations and manage supplier agreements, leveraging purchasing power to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and warranties.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, lead-times, and delivery compliance; escalate issues and work with suppliers to implement corrective actions or alternate sourcing when needed.
Procurement Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with PermaCorps manufacturing and construction project needs, with a focus on cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery.
- Forecast material and service needs based on upcoming project schedules; anticipate supply-chain risks and proactively manage inventory or ordering cycles to avoid shortages or overstock.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes implement best practices, optimize vendor selection and ordering workflows, and document standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with internal teams; project management, manufacturing/production, construction scheduling, finance, and logistics; to align procurement activities with project timelines and avoid delays.
- Support budgeting and cost-control efforts, ensuring procurement stays within project budgets and that cost savings or efficiencies are captured and reported to leadership.
Records & Data Management
- Maintain accurate procurement records: track purchase orders, delivery schedules, supplier performance, and cost data.
- Support reporting and documentation to ensure transparency and traceability across all projects.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing roles; preferably within manufacturing, construction, or industrial operations.
- Strong negotiation skills and proven vendor and contract management experience.
- Experience coordinating procurement with manufacturing or construction project timelines, including understanding of lead-times, delivery schedules, and their impact on project progress.
- Solid analytical and cost-control mindset; ability to assess supplier proposals, compare options, and recommend cost-effective solutions that meet quality and scheduling requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and documentation abilities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working cross-functionally with project managers, production teams, logistics, finance, and external suppliers.
- Ability to manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously and respond proactively to supply-chain disruptions.
- Familiarity with procurement software or ERP tools is an asset.
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Attributes
- Experience in construction-related procurement or project-based sourcing.
- Demonstrated success in reducing procurement costs while maintaining or improving supply quality and delivery performance.
- Certifications in supply chain or procurement from a recognized professional body are a plus.
