Westaff Hiring Lead Quality Control Inspector for Metal Manufacturer in Wallingford, CT!
Hours: 7am-3:30pm, M-F (some OT may be required)
Pay: $20/hr+ (may be higher based on experience!)
About the Role:
This role is responsible for ensuring all machined parts meet strict quality standards through accurate inspection, documentation, and adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS). The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to guide and support inspection teams.

This role is responsible for ensuring all machined parts meet strict quality standards through accurate inspection, documentation, and adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS). The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to guide and support inspection teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately inspect machined parts using gauges, calipers, micrometers, scales, profilometers, and other precision measurement tools according to work instructions
- Perform surface plate inspections and CMM inspections as required
- Identify and segregate non-conforming parts or materials
- Complete all required documentation for inspection activities
- Enter inspection results into appropriate databases with accuracy
- Conduct final inspections to verify outgoing shipments
- Understand and follow all elements of the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Provide training and guidance to quality inspectors
- Coordinate and monitor activities of assigned quality inspection teams
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and write English and perform basic math
- Correct use of basic measurement instruments (tape measure, scales, gauges)
- Basic computer skills for data entry
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to read and interpret drawings of machined parts
- Proficiency in inspecting machined parts
- Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Ability to troubleshoot basic quality or machine-related issues
