Qualification & ExperienceUpstream Senior Research Associate (SRA)Qualification: B.Tech/M.Tech Chemical Engineering, MSc Biotechnology, MSc Biochemistry, MSc MicrobiologyExperience: 3 to 6 years or Ph.D. (Fresh)
Upstream Research Associate (RA)Qualification: B.Tech/M.Tech Chemical Engineering, MSc Biotechnology, MSc Biochemistry, MSc MicrobiologyExperience: 0 to 3 years
Responsibilities Upstream Senior Research Associate (SRA)Upstream (USP):Execute and optimize Microbial fermentation.Operate and maintain bioreactors (1L-150L), prepare media, inoculum, and perform aseptic techniques.Develop fed-batch strategies and analyze infection kinetics/yields.Downstream (DSP):Design and optimize protein purification (chromatography, filtration, extraction).Perform filtration and scale-down/scale-up studies.Cross-Functional & Documentation:Collaborate with analytical, molecular biology, and formulation teams.Support tech transfer to pilot/commercial scale.Prepare SOPs, reports, and support regulatory filings.Maintain strict GLP/GDP compliance and data integrity.Data Analysis & Reporting:Collect, analyse, and plot experimental data for comparative studies; evaluate and summarize experiment results.Documentation & Compliance:Maintain accurate and detailed documentation in laboratory notebooks and batch records.Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring all activities comply with ISO/GLP guidelines and regulatory requirements.Equipment Maintenance:Perform routine maintenance, cleaning-in-place (CIP), and sterilization-in-place (SIP) of bioreactors and associated equipment.Safety:Prioritize personal and process safety in the workplace.
Upstream Research Associate (RA)Fermentation:Plan and execute upstream experiments, microbial fermentation, seed cultivation, etc., using various lab/pilot scale fermenters.Bioreactor Operations:Set up, operate, and maintain bioprocess equipment such as bench-scale and large-scale bioreactors, ensuring sterile conditions to prevent contamination.Process Monitoring:Perform aseptic sampling at specified time points and monitor critical process parameters (temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, cell density).Product Recovery:Execute downstream processing techniques for the recovery and purification of the desired product from the fermentation broth.Purification Techniques: Operate purification equipment and perform techniques such as chromatography (affinity, ion exchange), Microfiltration, and Ultrafiltration.Documentation & Compliance:Maintain accurate and detailed documentation in laboratory notebooks and batch records.Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring all activities comply with ISO/GLP guidelines and regulatory requirements.Equipment Maintenance:Perform routine maintenance, cleaning-in-place (CIP), and sterilization-in-place (SIP) of bioreactors and associated equipment.Safety:Get trained and follow the experiments/work with utmost caution with safety regulations for both personnel and equipment.
