Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and polished General Manager / Director to oversee all front-of-house operations and deliver a world-class guest experience at IL Migliore. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with a proven record in fine-dining management, strong business insight, and a passion for hospitality excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
- Oversee all day-to-day restaurant operations, ensuring seamless coordination between front and back of house.
- Partner closely with the Executive Chef to create an exceptional guest journey that reflects Michelin-level standards.
- Maintain a visible floor presence during service to ensure optimal guest satisfaction and staff performance.
- Develop and implement operational systems, policies, and procedures that support efficiency and quality.
Guest Experience & Brand Standards
- Deliver a refined, anticipatory level of hospitality that consistently exceeds expectations.
- Uphold the IL Migliore brand through meticulous attention to detail in presentation, service, and ambiance.
- Resolve guest concerns with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency.
- Act as the brand ambassador in the Boca Raton community, fostering loyalty and recognition among discerning guests.
Team Building & Training
- Recruit, train, and mentor an elite front-of-house team including managers, sommeliers, bartenders, and service staff.
- Create a positive culture that emphasizes accountability, respect, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular training on service standards, wine knowledge, and guest engagement.
- Implement performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback for career growth.
Financial Management
- Manage all financial aspects of restaurant operations including labor, inventory, and cost controls.
- Prepare and analyze P&L statements in partnership with ownership to ensure profitability.
- Develop strategic plans to drive sales, manage expenses, and meet financial targets without compromising guest experience.
- Oversee cash handling, vendor billing, and compliance with financial policies.
Marketing & Community Engagement
- Collaborate with ownership and marketing teams to develop local partnerships, media exposure, and brand-building initiatives.
- Support event programming such as wine dinners, private events, and community collaborations.
- Maintain relationships with VIP guests, local influencers, and hospitality partners.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations including health, safety, and labor laws.
- Maintain all necessary licenses and certifications.
- Oversee facility maintenance and ensure readiness for inspections.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive experience in fine-dining management, with at least 3 years as a General Manager or Director of Operations.
- Proven success in luxury or Michelin-recognized establishments.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret financial statements and drive profitability.
- Expertise in Italian cuisine, wine service, and hospitality culture preferred.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with POS and reservation management systems (e.g., Toast, Resy, OpenTable).
- Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with a high-end brand.
