The Sales Manager develops and manages the sales team and sales processes, directly solicits janitorial and commercial project accounts, and maintains ongoing client relationships in a designated territory. This role is essential in driving new business while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction with current accounts.
What You'll Tackle
Leadership & Team Development
- Build, train, and mentor a growing sales team to achieve individual and team revenue goals.
- Establish sales goals, performance metrics, and accountability standards.
- Develop processes and protocols to build an efficient and effective sales cycle.
- Provide ongoing coaching, deal support, and professional development for sales staff.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, professional excellence, and customer-first service.
Professionalism
- Build and maintain positive relationships with potential and existing clients, consistently representing the company as a professional, competent, and caring company.
- Always maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance.
- Operate in alignment with company policies, procedures, and the “Do the Right Thing” principles at all times.
Sales
- Enter and manage leads daily using Client Relationship Management (CRM) software.
- Develop and execute an annual sales plan with weekly activity targets, including cold calls, outreach, and in-person visits. Track close ratios.
- Conduct weekly canvassing of assigned territory to generate new business opportunities.
- Attend and represent the company at trade shows, BOMA meetings, Chamber of Commerce events, and other business development forums.
- When requested, upsell and schedule additional services for existing clients.
Client Service
- Fully understand the scope and details of each client’s service agreement.
- Provide ongoing client check-ins post-service launch: after day one, after one week, then biweekly, and monthly until service confidence is established.
- Inspect client accounts monthly (or more frequently if needed) to ensure service quality meets expectations.
- Provide all feedback to the Operations Manager using proper protocol and procedures.
- Recommend and upsell add-ons and project work to customers.
- Achieve "Above and Beyond" service to future and existing clients by establishing proactive communication and recognizing customer events and successes when known (i.e., birthdays, product launches, acquisitions, etc).
- Maintain regular communication with operations and janitorial teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Attend production meetings and work with production crews to learn operational procedures and identify any issues.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in B2B sales in janitorial or facility services.
- Proficiency with CRM software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Compensation: $85k base salary plus commission
