Job Description
Akkodis is seeking a Scrum Master for a contract position with our Fortune 500 banking client.
Rate: $70 - $73/hr W2. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Location: Charlotte, NC (hybrid onsite 3 days a week)
Overview
Lead Agile teams and apply Scrum to deliver business value.
Ensure correct use/adherence to Scrum process.
Ability to lead and influence teams in adopting Agile principles.
5+ years experience in Agile; includes hands‑on Scrum Master experience.
Delivery Execution
- Proficiency with Jira for managing deliverables and tracking work.
- Create, maintain, and execute project plans.
- Manage governance routines (daily/weekly routines, tollgates, PI prep, repos/docs updates).
- Understanding of Enterprise Change Standards (e.g. change controls, risk/approvals).
- Work with the team to remove impediments quickly.
- Ability to manage complex projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
Stakeholder Management Communication
- Facilitate communication; influence and negotiate vertically and horizontally.
- Integrate with project, technology, and business partners; proactively gather status with minimal disruption.
- Establish and maintain status templates and weekly status updates.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, influencing, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable reports/presentations; translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
Foundational Knowledge Behaviors
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, XP).
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy; organizational skills; manage multiple priorities.
- Self‑motivated, self‑directed; able to work independently with limited supervision.
- Project management experience (beyond Scrum facilitation).
- High level of credibility with executives and business partners; proven ability to influence, negotiate, and drive results.
- Experience establishing supporting documentation for governance routines (e.g., playbooks, RACI, checkpoints).
- Strong analytical and presentation skills; capable of producing management‑ready communications.
- Experience with Program Increment (PI) preparation (commonly seen in SAFe environments).
- Broader exposure to multiple Agile frameworks (e.g., Kanban for flow‑based work, XP practices in engineering teams).
