Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Architectural Fabrication Designer with strong experience in design for metal fabrication and large-scale custom installations. This role requires a hands-on designer who understands manufacturing constraints, material behavior, and production processes, and can lead projects from concept through fabrication and installation.
This is not a purely conceptual architectural role — the successful candidate must have demonstrated experience producing fabrication-ready drawings and collaborating directly with fabrication teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead architectural metal fabrication design projects from concept development through production and installation.
- Produce detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and 3D models ready for manufacturing.
- Design custom architectural metal components and large-scale installations.
- Develop solutions that balance aesthetics with structural integrity, manufacturability, and material limitations.
- Work closely with fabrication teams to resolve design challenges during production.
- Create CNC-ready files and coordinate with machinists and welders.
- Oversee prototyping and testing of fabricated components.
- Review designs for compliance with applicable building codes, structural requirements, and company standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and installers to ensure seamless project execution.
- Manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, or related field.

- Aluminum assemblies
- CNC machining and digital fabrication workflows
- Experience designing for manufacturability (DFM).
- Proven ability to collaborate directly with fabrication teams.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience with large-scale architectural metal installations.
- Familiarity with CNC machining, laser cutting, waterjet cutting, and 3D printing.
- Experience in custom architectural metal, structural steel, public art fabrication, or specialty installations.
- Knowledge of sustainable materials and fabrication practices.
