PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The Senior Professional Data & AI Platform Engineer owns the design, development, deployment, and operational excellence of complex data ingestion and transformation domains within the enterprise cloud data platform.
This role builds scalable, high-volume data pipelines while elevating technical standards across development and deployment practices. You are accountable not only for delivering production-ready solutions, but for ensuring they are reliable, secure, performant, and aligned with enterprise governance and AI-readiness requirements.
You serve as a technical leader within the engineering team who guides architectural decisions within your domain, influencing best practices, and mentoring engineers while remaining deeply hands-on in building and optimizing data products that power Analytics, AI, and Automation across global business functions.
You partner closely with Global IT, Business Stakeholders, Data Governance, Security & Privacy, AI & Automation Engineers, Data Analysts, Marketing Technology, and FinOps to translate evolving business needs into scalable, compliant, and cost-efficient platform capabilities.
You continuously apply modern DevOps and GenAI-assisted engineering practices to enhance solution quality, accelerate delivery, and strengthen the long-term resilience of the platform.
Reporting Structure- You will report directly to amanager employed by Under Armour Global Services Pvt. Ltd. in India.
YOUR IMPACT (Job Responsibilities):
- Design, build, andoptimizescalable ELT pipelines using Snowflake,dbtCloud, AWS Glue, Airflow, andFivetran(CDC/log-based replication)
- Own complex ingestion and transformation domains end-to-end, including architectural design, performance tuning, and production reliability
- Write high-performance, production-grade SQL and Python integrated into automated CI/CD pipelines
- Apply advanceddataintegrationtechniques to support enterpriseanalytics, data sharing, AI use cases, and self-service data products
- Lead ingestion and integration efforts across enterprise systems such as SAP,Salesforce,andvarious specialized global technology data sources.
- Establish and enforce data engineeringand data securitydesign patterns, coding standards, and deployment best practices
- Partner with Global IT, Data Governance, Security & Privacy, AI & Automation Engineers, Data Analysts, FinOps, and business stakeholders to influence scalable and secure solution design
- Serve as technical lead during development and deployment cycles, guiding implementation decisions and troubleshooting complex issues
- Act as escalation point for high-impact production incidents within assigned domains and participate in a responsive on-call rotation process to resolve critical production issues as needed upholding data contract SLAs
- Drive improvements in data quality, observability instrumentation, and reliability engineering practices
- Apply and championGenAI-assisted engineering workflows to improve development velocity, automated testing, and data product quality
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical coaching
- Continuously improveplatform anddata pipelineperformance, cost efficiency, and scalability
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:Bachelors degree in Computer Science,Information Systems,Engineeringor acloselyrelated field with5+ years of relevant experience ORMasters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related technical field and3years of progressively responsible data and/or software engineering experienceOR 9+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
- Strong data engineeringand warehousingfundamentals(deployment patterns, data ingestion patterns, database design)
- Experience building high-volume data products and services
- Advanced programming in SQL and Python
- Strong Snowflakeexpertise
- Demonstrated analytic modelingproficiency
- Experience integrating SAP, Salesforce, or comparable enterprise systems
- Experience working with enterprise data domains (consumer, finance, marketing, supply chain, HR)
- Demonstrated application of security and privacy-by-design frameworks
- Strong experience withAWSservices(S3, Glue, IAM)
- Provensuccessfulexperience inenablingdata replication andclouddata sharing
- Job orchestration tools such as Airflow(i.e.MWAA)
- Understanding of CI/CD and Git workflows
- Proven experiencebuilding for or application ofGenAIin either RAG workflows, or agentic workflows(i.e.,SnowflakeCortex AI Suite)
- Practical work experienceutilizingAPI to buildbespoke data pipelinesor automation workflows.
- Ability to provide written,visual,and oral interpretation of highly specialized technicalconceptstoboth technical andnon-technicalaudiences.
- Basic understanding of GDPR, CCPA, or data privacy principlespreferred
- Experience enabling AI/GenAIworkloads at scalepreferred
- Experience partnering with FinOps on cost optimizationpreferred
WORKPLACE LOCATION:
Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our office.
Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 4 days in-office per week.
