Job Description
Overview
This role is responsible for leading complex environmental projects, providing technical expertise, and supporting clients across regulatory compliance, site investigation, and remediation efforts. The Senior Environmental Professional will serve as a technical leader, mentor junior staff, and play a key role in client delivery and business growth within the Southeast region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage environmental projects from planning through execution, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met.
- Serve as a technical expert for environmental investigations, remediation, and regulatory compliance programs.
- Prepare, review, and approve technical reports, work plans, permit applications, and regulatory submittals.
- Interface directly with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to provide clear, defensible technical guidance.
- Conduct data evaluation, risk assessments, and conceptual site model development to support informed decision-making.
- Provide oversight and mentoring to junior and mid-level staff, supporting technical development and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with business development and leadership teams to support proposal development, client relationships, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations, with an emphasis on Georgia and Southeast U.S. requirements.
- Promote a strong culture of health, safety, quality, and professional integrity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, geology, or a related discipline.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license required or ability to obtain.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in environmental consulting, industry, or regulatory settings.
- Demonstrated experience leading environmental investigations and remediation projects.
- Strong working knowledge of environmental regulations, including CERCLA, RCRA, and state-level programs.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high technical and professional standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience supporting client-facing roles.
