Job Description
Location: Dublin City Centre | Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Our client is a growing international business within the insurance space, operating in a highly technical and regulated environment. The Dublin office plays a key role in supporting group-wide activity, with strong interaction across finance, actuarial and operational teams globally.
This position has been created as part of the ongoing evolution of the finance function. It will suit someone who combines strong technical accounting expertise with a mindset for improving how things are done. You’ll be joining at a senior level with clear visibility and scope to progress further within the team over time.
Your Role
- Partner closely with senior stakeholders across the business, acting as a trusted finance lead on key activities and decisions
- Take ownership of complex accounting areas, particularly around new and evolving transactions, ensuring appropriate treatment and documentation
- Lead on the delivery of financial and regulatory outputs, ensuring consistency, accuracy and adherence to tight timelines
- Play a central role in IFRS 17 implementation and ongoing refinement, embedding best practice across reporting processes
- Drive improvements across finance operations, identifying inefficiencies and implementing more streamlined approaches
- Contribute to the strengthening of the control environment, ensuring risks are identified and appropriately managed
- Support the preparation of high‑quality reporting for senior leadership, boards and committees
- Work cross‑functionally to align finance processes with wider business objectives
- Lead and develop a team, creating a high‑performance culture with clear accountability and support
- Get involved in broader finance and business initiatives, bringing structure and oversight to key projects
- Qualified accountant with relevant experience within insurance or a similarly regulated environment
- Strong exposure to IFRS 17, with a clear understanding of how it impacts reporting and decision‑making
- Background in technical accounting, with the ability to navigate complex reporting requirements
- Experience managing or mentoring others, with a collaborative and hands‑on leadership style
- Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced environment with multiple competing priorities
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to contribute beyond pure reporting
- Proven ability to influence and engage with senior stakeholders across different functions
- Experience driving change, whether through systems, processes or operating model improvements
- Strong attention to detail alongside the ability to step back and see the bigger picture
- Confident communicator, able to simplify complex concepts for different audiences
