Senior Manager-Government Affairs (WEST)Mumbai, Corporate Affairs - Government AffairsJOB DESCRIPTIONPrimary Purpose of RoleLead Corporate Affairs initiatives focused on License to Operate, moderation, and Ease of Doing Business by maintaining harmonious relationships with government authorities and community stakeholders, ensuring uninterrupted brewery operations and business continuity. Plan and execute engagement strategies in collaboration with cross functional teams to build and sustain a positive organizational image in and around brewery locations. Act as a strategic administrative partner to plant and commercial leadership teams.
Proactively engage with external stakeholders to secure timely approvals of licenses, permits, and statutory permissions, ensuring smooth business operations across Maharashtra, DDSG, and Goa.Roles & responsibilitiesGovernment Affairs, WestSecure and maintain all operational licenses, permits, and statutory approvals to ensure uninterrupted brewery operations. Build, manage, and sustain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, including government authorities and community representatives. Track, analyze, and report market, policy, and industry intelligence relevant to operations and regulatory environment.
Drive initiatives related to fiscal policy advocacy and provide structured feedback to State Governments to support Ease of Doing Business reforms. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design and implement community engagement and CSR initiatives in a planned, calendarized manner. Develop and manage a proactive engagement calendar, including regular interactions and visits with key government and community stakeholders.
Draft and review applications, representations, letters, and official correspondence with various departments of the Mumbai State Government. Own end to end statutory compliance, coordinating with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely approvals from government departments. Develop strong operational understanding and execution capability related to brewery and excise licensing, ensuring readiness to act decisively as required.
Apply analytical and anticipatory skills to identify risks early and prevent last minute compliance or operational issues. Engage confidently with bureaucrats and senior government officials, demonstrating subject matter expertise, logical reasoning, and persuasion skills. Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for ABI with external stakeholders, including government bodies and community groups.
