Senior Manager, Marketing Transformation & Operations
PayPal
Job Description
Job Summary
You don't just manage programs — you move mountains. At PayPal, you'll be at the epicenter of one of fintech's most ambitious marketing modernization efforts — migrating legacy platforms, building world‑class lifecycle management capabilities, and accelerating AI-powered personalization that reaches hundreds of millions of customers globally. You'll orchestrate complex customer journeys across email, push, and in‑app channels, turning real‑time decisioning into measurable impact at speed.
This is a role built for a builder — someone who thrives in ambiguity, rallies cross‑functional teams around a bold north star, and is energized by the intersection of technology, creativity, and transformation. If you want your work felt by millions — this is your moment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Support the marketing leadership team in strategy formulation, planning, and priority setting.
- Drive the annual planning process in partnership with segment marketing teams.
- Manage strategic priorities and assess their implications on the marketing budget.
- Oversee the transition of strategic projects into execution, collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
- Prepare executive reports and contribute to cross‑functional presentations and updates.
- Consolidate annual marketing planning activities into a single streamlined view and communication cadence.
- Provide thought leadership on opportunities for process improvement and operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in marketing technology, business transformation, or marketing operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership or people management capacity.
- Deep hands‑on experience with lifecycle marketing platforms such as Braze, Adobe Journey Optimizer, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or Acoustic, including migration planning and platform rationalization across complex enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large‑scale MarTech transformation programs from business case through execution, including vendor assessment, architecture design, and cross‑functional stakeholder alignment.
- Experience managing program budgets in the $10M+ range and coordinating with systems integrators or consulting partners (e.g., Publicis Sapient, Deloitte, Accenture).
- Strong working knowledge of the broader marketing technology ecosystem including CDPs (Adobe RT‑CDP, Segment, mParticle), CMS/DAM platforms, offer management systems, and measurement/attribution frameworks.
- Familiarity with enterprise data governance principles and how data quality, consent management, and identity resolution underpin effective lifecycle marketing.
- Experience defining and evolving marketing operating models, including workflow design, creative production processes, and the integration of AI/automation into campaign execution.
- Track record of driving measurable efficiency gains — whether through headcount optimization, cycle time reduction, or campaign volume scaling — while maintaining or improving quality and compliance.
- Proven ability to build compelling executive narratives and present transformation roadmaps to SVP/C‑suite audiences, translating technical architecture decisions into business outcomes and financial impact.
- Comfortable operating in matrixed organizations where influence without direct authority is essential.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience in financial services, fintech, or payments is a strong plus.
- Background working with agile delivery methodologies and familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or similar tools for program management is expected.
