About the Role
At Alpha, you will be pivotal in leading engagements to identify and implement solutions for a range of issues facing asset and wealth managers. Over the course of each project, you will collect and analyze data, prepare and test hypotheses, and present recommendations to the client to solve their unique business & technology challenges.
Responsibilities
- Managing project execution and a team of consultants, ensuring successful delivery of client engagements; planning day‑to‑day work, facilitating client interviews and workshops, structuring deliverables, and ensuring Alpha's standards for quality are met.
- Creating a culture of continuous learning for the team and clients, actively mentoring team members to develop their skillset.
- Supporting Alpha FMC's business development by driving the creation of client proposals, authoring thought leadership, and maintaining strong relationships with past and prospective clients.
- Contributing to the wider Alpha community by making innovative and proactive contributions to one or more of Alpha's business management or practice areas.
- Maintaining a broad understanding of the challenges facing the Asset & Wealth Management Industry and acting as an expert in at least one area in demand by clients.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 7 years of proven Asset and/or Wealth Management consulting experience, either from a recognized consulting firm or an in‑house strategy, transformation, or program management role within an Asset or Wealth Management organization.
- Deep understanding of the Asset and/or Wealth Management value chain, spanning multiple client segments, investment products, and operating models.
- Demonstrated success leading complex programs across the full lifecycle from operating model design, business case development, vendor evaluation/selection through to implementation and transformation delivery.
- Experience in specialized domains such as Trading, Risk, Research, Investment Operations, or Performance/Attribution is highly valued.
- Outstanding presentation, facilitation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and drive consensus among diverse stakeholders from senior executives and investment leaders to operations and technology teams.
- Comfortable leading executive‑level workshops, steering committees, and program forums.
- Proven track record in client relationship development and business growth, including leading or supporting business development efforts, contributing to proposals and thought leadership, and helping to expand the firm's Investment Practice footprint across both existing and new clients.
- Excellent consulting and analytical problem‑solving skills, including familiarity with structured consulting frameworks, quantitative modeling, and hypothesis‑driven methodologies.
- Ability to synthesize complex issues into clear, compelling narratives supported by high‑quality deliverables.
- Strong understanding of investment products and asset classes, including Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, and Alternatives, with the ability to translate investment and business needs into operating and technology design requirements.
- Knowledge of leading industry platforms and data ecosystems, such as BlackRock Aladdin, SimCorp Dimension, Charles River/State Street Alpha Data Platform, Bloomberg AIM, FactSet, MSCI, and other specialized tools supporting the investment lifecycle.
- Understanding of enterprise platform workflows and integration points across order management, risk, performance, reference data, client reporting, and data governance domains.
- Proven delivery experience, ideally having served as a Program or Workstream Lead on complex, multi‑phase change initiatives.
- Ability to operate fluidly between business and technology, distilling requirements and bridging communication across both sides.
- Advanced proficiency in critical consulting tools, including Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and other analytical and visualization tools used for business case modelling, data analysis, and executive‑level reporting.
- Intellectual curiosity and creativity, with the ability to think strategically about emerging trends, digital innovation, and evolving front‑to‑back operating models.
- Proven ability to mentor, coach, and develop team members, fostering collaboration and collective success.
- Flexibility to travel, depending on client and engagement needs.
