Location: San Jose, CA (Hybrid - 3 days/week onsite)
Duration: 3+ months contract
Max Pay Rate: $73-74/hr. on w2

About the team and the role:
The purchases design team is part of client's core design org and partners closely with product, engineering, and analytics to shape the end-to-end purchase experience across client's site and app. We focus on leading the industry with innovative, scalable, and accessible design patterns, with performance-minded UX to measurably improve ease-of-use, trust, and purchase conversion.
This role provides temporary coverage while the team's design lead is on leave. You'll contribute to critical purchase flows by delivering high-quality designs with velocity and help the team innovate on everyday interactions by millions of people across client's global marketplace.
What you will accomplish:
- Individually contribute to the design of end-to-end express checkout interactions for guests and members.
- Independently lead the iteration and delivery of express checkout solutions through the development and experimentation process.
- Identify and contribute to cart, checkout, and order details continuous improvement workstreams.
- Deliver design iterations to support experimentation with new urgency signals, payment methods, and information hierarchy within cart, checkout, and order details.
- Foster strong cross-functional collaboration by leading regular working sessions, incorporating feedback, and creating well-organized design files, prototypes, and stakeholder presentations.
- Design elegant, industry-leading, checkout experiences for one of the world's largest community marketplaces.
What you will bring:
- 8+ years of professional design experience
- Past success designing and shipping multiplatform product features in Figma for iOS, android, and web
- Past success quickly forging strong cross-functional relationships, working directly with developers and product managers on product designs
- Craft: a high level of interaction design craft and a commitment to delivering your best work
- Leadership: experience navigating ambiguous and/or complex environments, to reach the best design outcomes for client and its customers

- Preferred: Bachelor's or master's degree in design, related field, or commensurate expertise
