Who We Are Metrolinx’s GO Expansion program is delivering more GO service across the network, including the capacity to deliver two-way service every 15 minutes or better on core routes. Work is already underway on new track, station renovations and infrastructure upgrades on parts of the Lakeshore, Stouffville, Kitchener and Barrie lines. The investment will generate thousands of new jobs and economic opportunities across the region.
The ONxpress Civil Joint Venture is comprised of Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc. and FCC Canada Ltd. This multidisciplinary team leads the delivery of civil and track works, leveraging global expertise to introduce innovative solutions across the GO Transit network. What You'll Do Lead and coordinate project activities across design and construction phases, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
Carry out detailed constructability reviews to validate engineering design requirements, project schedule, manpower, and procurement needs. Develop and maintain the project schedule, cost breakdown structure (CBS), and budget for engineering and construction segments. Manage progressive billing, invoicing processes, and financial tracking in collaboration with commercial and finance teams.
Plan and implement engineering and construction programs, including defining project plans, activities, milestones, and resource requirements. Oversee rail corridor access planning, including T-minus scheduling and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Coordinate preparation and delivery of project deliverables, including design documents, as-built drawings, and turnover packages.
Review project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and contractual requirements. Forecast and track change orders, scope adjustments, and associated cost impacts. Provide leadership and mentorship to subordinate project coordinators, ensuring effective task delegation and performance oversight.
Prepare and present status and progress reports to clients, project teams, and senior management. Support quality assurance and safety programs, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Write and review purchase specifications, subcontract documents, and other contractual deliverables.
Actively engage in risk management, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication to maintain project objectives. Perform other duties as assigned, including field-based coordination from site trailers as required. What You bring: Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Strong understanding of construction codes, standards, and industry best practices. Minimum 4–6 years of experience in project coordination or engineering within a construction or EPC environment; experience in heavy civil or rail projects is an asset. Proven ability to manage project scope, schedule, and cost, including familiarity with cost breakdown structures (CBS) and financial processes such as progressive billing and invoicing.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) for effective collaboration with large, multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrated leadership capability to mentor and guide junior coordinators or support staff.
Proficiency in project management and design tools (e.g., MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, BIM software, and scheduling tools such as Primavera or MS Project). Service-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. Ability to demonstrate technical expertise and understanding of compliance requirements in the construction industry.
Expected compensation for this role is between $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 annually. Base salaries are determined according to multiple factors including skills, experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into consideration.
