Job Summary:
The Senior Software Deployment and Patching Engineer is responsible for managing and optimizing the deployment of enterprise software and patches using industry tools such as Tanium, Configuration Manager, Flexera and Intune. The role ensures efficient installation, updates, and removals across the organization's IT environment, leveraging tools to enhance operational resilience and reduce complexity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Software Deployment: Utilize Tanium Deploy, Flexera Admin Studio, Intune tools, and PowerShell scripts to install, update, and remove software packages across various endpoints.
- Endpoints vary from physical to virtual and mobile.
- Intune Company Portal: Advanced knowledge on packaging and delivering software applications to Microsoft Company Portal.
- Experience in optimizing, debugging, deploying and improving the overall software delivery of applications packaged within the company portal.
- Maintain and keep the company applications catalog up to date within the company portal.
- Package and repackage for deployment of Microsoft Config Manager and Intune products, ensuring efficient and accurate deployment for clients.
- Patch Management: Manage and deploy patches and updates using Tanium and Intune to ensure systems are secure and up-to-date.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and organizational standards.
- Configuration Management: Configure deployment environments and maintain operational hygiene and system baselines.
- Automation: Develop, maintain and use PowerShell scripts to automate and streamline application and patching processes.
- Perform quality assurance testing to ensure application compatibility and functionality.
- Monitoring: Monitor deployment processes and system performance, addressing any issues that arise.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application installation and packaging.
- Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams to schedule and coordinate deployments and updates.
- Work with other engineering teams to ensure the application catalog aligns with the company's core offerings and supports our competitive edge.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of deployment processes and procedures using Tanium and Intune.
- End‑User Support: Provide support for end‑user self‑service software installations and updates through Tanium's self‑service portal.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience with Tanium Deploy, Intune, PowerShell scripting, and software deployment processes.
- Skills: Proficiency with Tanium and Intune deployment tools, Appv and advanced PowerShell scripting.
- In depth knowledge of Microsoft Installer (MSI) and other application deployment techniques.
- Experience with PSADT (PowerShell Application Deployment Toolkit) and working knowledge of Configuration Manager.
- Nice to have: Knowledge of Flexera Admin Studio for software packaging.
- 2+ years of experience in scripting, automation and coding languages used on Microsoft Azure and Windows OS technologies.
- Advanced to senior understanding of real‑on‑the‑job experience with Microsoft Intune and Azure roles.
- Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows 11) with proven experience in application packaging and deployment to various operating systems.
- Advanced knowledge of Windows registry, Group Policy and OS security settings.
- Knowledge of endpoint, software security and compliance standards.
- Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies and cloud‑based deployment solutions.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely‑related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience.

Salary and Benefits:
Typical base pay range for this role:
- New York / New Jersey: $127k–$205k
- Non‑New York / New Jersey: $127k–$188k
Additional compensation may include performance‑based bonuses. Our hybrid work schedule is four days on‑site and one day remote per week.
